Architectural Acoustics Expertise

Our proficiency in architectural acoustics extends across building acoustics and room acoustics, recognizing their pivotal roles in various environments such as classrooms, offices, theatres, and concert halls.

  • Building Acoustics: We focus on evaluating sound transmission through walls, doors, and floors to prevent unwanted noise infiltration or understand its impact. Our approach involves meticulous measurements of sound both inside and outside the building, accounting for factors like reverberation and background noise. Armed with comprehensive information about the noise, including frequency content, we implement targeted mitigation strategies, including insulation and shielding.
  • Room Acoustics: In the realm of room acoustics, our goal is to create environments with optimal sound characteristics, whether it be facilitating easy communication in office spaces or achieving ideal reverberation times in concert halls. We conduct in-depth analyses of a room's acoustic properties, considering factors like reverberation time and impulse response. This nuanced understanding allows us to implement effective improvements through thoughtful redesigns or the integration of absorptive materials.

Video Walls

A Video Wall, also referred to as a display wall, is an expansive visualization surface composed of multiple displays. Initially, these setups featured closely aligned televisions or monitors, aiming to create the illusion of a singular large display surface. However, the challenge arose with the prominent frame (or bezel) surrounding each television, undermining the effect of a seamless canvas and compromising visual performance. To address this, innovative technologies were introduced to minimize the 'dead pixel space' between individual displays. Modern video wall solutions predominantly utilize:

  • LCD Video Walls: Comprising specifically designed LCDs, LCD video walls stand out for their minimal bezels, creating a cohesive, large canvas appearance. Evolving, Barco UniSee now boasts the industry's smallest gap. Engineered for long-term use, LCD video walls incorporate measures to prevent burn-in effects, allowing continuous operation in 24/7 modes. Traditional advantages include high brightness, excellent image quality, and cost-effectiveness. While concerns such as burn-in risk and lower lifetime have been mitigated in recent models, LCD walls find applications in meeting rooms, crisis rooms, lobbies, and experience centres, as well as control rooms in traffic and security centres.
  • Rear-Projection Video Walls: Utilizing projection technology instead of LCD, rear-projection video walls cater to applications requiring 24/7 operation, such as control rooms. Often relied upon by utility providers for network monitoring, these walls consist of multiple cubes featuring projectors and screens. Projectors are positioned upwards, and a mirror under a 45° angle reflects the image onto the projection screen, drastically reducing the required depth. Barco's OverView ODLF Series, for instance, boasts a minimal depth of 60 cm/23.6". The technology offers a high lifetime, absence of burn-in effects, and a narrow gap between cubes. While brightness and real estate space remain considerations, Barco addresses these challenges through the introduction of laser video walls.
  • LED Video Walls: Employing cutting-edge technology, LED video walls are designed to deliver awe-inspiring visual experiences, especially in retail, advertisements, spectacles, and live performances. Consisting of individual colour LEDs, LED display tiles provide high brightness, vibrant colours, and no inter-tile gaps. The versatility of pixel pitch accommodates various viewing distances. Although direct-view LED technology offers limited depth and weight, it comes with a higher cost and power consumption. The remarkable visual impact and adaptability to specific settings make LED video walls a preferred choice for captivating audiences.

Digital Signage

Digital Signage is the use of digital displays to showcase advertisements or messages to a targeted audience. This modern form of signage allows for easy content changes and expands capabilities beyond traditional static posters to include videos, live feeds, and animated content. The Digital Signage ecosystem comprises digital displays or panels powered by backend Digital Signage Software, also known as Content Management Software (CMS), and a backend operating computer connected through a media player. This technology enables brands to establish a centralized network of digital signages, promoting uniformity and facilitating seamless communication.
